Location

The 4-star Hotel Hannover is located in the heart of Grado, ancient port used by Julius Cesar's ships, docking here before sailing up the lagoon and rivers to Aquileia. A site rich in history, cultural attractions and nature.

Stroll through Grado to enjoy the Sant’Eufemia Basilica and Baptistery dating back to the fifth century while just further on to the North is the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, also extremely old.

Just 200 meters from our hotel lobby are the equipped beaches, ideal for fun-filled vacationson the sandy beaches and shallow waters, a perfect playground for kids surrounded by the blue sea and green vegetation.

Grado's surroundings are scattered across the enchanting and charming lagoon, a unique and highly protected ecosystem, rich in holiday farms and trattorias housed in traditional ‘casoni’, the local fishermen's houses built on the lagoon's islands.

The iodine rich air, far from the polluted cities, and its waters particular saltiness have made Grado a leading Sea Spa Resort since 1892. The Grado Institute of Thalassotherapy is, in fact, one of the most famous in Italy.

The Hotel Hannover is an excellent home base for all the convention centers in Grado and Trieste. Furthermore, it's not far from the Trieste airport and main A4 and A23 highway exits.

The Valle Cavanata Nature Reserve and Banco d’Orio are the preferred habitats of many aquatic bird species – magnificent bird watching during the migration seasons! – and the rich reed, willow and evergreen vegetation provide for a fascinating vacation for nature lovers.

How to reach us

By train
The stations closest to Grado in Cervignano del Friuli (16 Km) and Udine (45 Km). The bus terminal connecting Grado to the stations is 200 m from the hotel.

By plane
The airports closest to Grado are in Trieste/Ronchi dei Legionari (18 km), Venice (120 km) and Treviso (130 km). From the Trieste airport, take the ATP shuttle to Grado. If you arrive in Venice or Treviso, take the shuttle to the train station and take a train to either Udine or Cervignano. From here, follow the directions under "by train".

By car.
From the A4 highway (Venice/Trieste) or A 23 highway (Tarvisio/Udine), exit at Palmanova and follow the signs to Cervignano/Aquileia/Grado, 28 km away. Once downtown, cross the first round about to Riva Gregori Zaccaria, turn right on Via Alessandro Manzoni. Continue straight for 100 m and take Via Camperio. Turn right to Piazza XXVI Maggio where the Hotel Hannover awaits you.
